This course is one of the skills labs for second-year pharmacy students (in a 4-year curriculum).

What prompted you to begin using Go?

“In the past I have put together paper cases for students and either posted or distributed hard copies. Given the time it takes to create one case, I rarely had extraneous information in the case so students weren’t having to sort through this as they would in practice. Also, as more and more students were being exposed to electronic charts, it felt like a fabricated experience.”

IMPLEMENTATION

It was a straightforward process. Getting students’ subscriptions activated was easy, and the first activity out of the gate had already been developed for me. Many times I’ll make slight modifications to an existing EHR Go case and this modification process doesn’t take long at all. When I’ve built out a case from scratch and run into an occasional user error or other glitch, the support team has provided quick responses so I can keep the process moving forward smoothly.

Go is used for particular labs only.
