Course NameUnderstanding the Healthcare Record

Course description:
This course focuses on the acute care health record including accreditation, certification, and licensure content and documentation standards. Students review author responsibilities and the quantitative and qualitative record review processes.

Instructor:
Marjorie Rosen, RHIT, AHIMA RCM Trainer

What prompted you to begin using Go?

“We wanted a system that had few problems when it came to student access. We also were looking for something the students could build their skills on over time.”

IMPLEMENTATION

The biggest obstacle was approving the change in system from Vlab to EHR Go. The process was very straightforward and the Instructional Design team with the instructors were able to use it with ease. The admin process is easy to learn and new instructors are able to meet with our rep and get acclimated within 1-2 meetings.

Once we went over the theory portion of medical records, we introduce the platform for the 2nd half of the class. This allows students some time to work within it and learn how to navigate a system.

What is the student experience using Go?

“Feedback from students was positive. They liked the platform, found it easy to use. Once we set up the expectations and showed them what we wanted, it has been a great integration. Therefore, we introduced it in another course as well.”
