Enjoin

The flexibility of the EHR Go platform supported multiple facilitation approaches, including guided review discussions, independent practice activities, targeted remediation, competency validation, and workflow-based coaching. Because trainees could continue building skills through simulated cases even when live operational opportunities were limited, educators had greater control over onboarding pacing, training continuity, and overall facilitation effectiveness.

What prompted you to begin using Go?

Enjoin began using EHR Go to help address several workforce onboarding and training challenges within a role-specific onboarding process. Traditional onboarding relied heavily on live operational workflows, including prebill reviews, physician availability, and access to production systems. While effective in some areas, this model created inconsistencies in training experiences, limited scalability, and operational bottlenecks that could delay trainee progression and place additional strain on trainers and operational teams.

The company was looking for a solution that would help standardize portions of the onboarding process while still providing meaningful, hands-on training experiences. EHR Go enabled the creation of a more structured and consistent training environment through realistic patient scenarios that closely mirrored real-world workflows.

Another major factor was the need to provide trainees with practical experience in a low-risk environment. The goal was to allow new trainees to build confidence and competency in specific Enjoin chart review processes and workflows before transitioning into live production work. The platform allowed trainees to actively practice these skills without impacting actual patient accounts or operational productivity.

Greater flexibility within the onboarding process was also identified as a key organizational need. Trainees enter the organization with varying levels of experience, strengths, and development needs. EHR Go provided the ability to personalize training by assigning targeted cases for reinforcement, remediation, or progressive skill development, creating a more adaptable and trainee-centered onboarding experience.

EHR Go supported experiential training in a way that felt authentic and operationally relevant to trainees. The cases created opportunities for repeated practice, reflection, feedback, and skill refinement that may not always be possible within fast-paced production environments. The ability to expose trainees to diverse case types, varying documentation scenarios, and progressive complexity levels also helped support more consistent onboarding experiences and workforce readiness outcomes.

IMPLEMENTATION

The company implemented EHR Go as part of an already established structured onboarding and workforce readiness model for role-specific training. Rather than using the platform in a traditional academic setting, EHR Go was integrated into operational onboarding workflows to support experiential training, competency development, and onboarding progression.

Implementation focused heavily on standardization and scalability. EHR Go cases were organized by specialty, topic focus, complexity level, and onboarding objectives so trainees could progress through a more consistent training pathway regardless of operational fluctuations or trainer availability, particularly during the earlier phases of onboarding. Trainers used EHR Go cases to support facilitated review sessions, independent practice activities, coaching discussions, and competency evaluations.

The platform also served as a supportive training tool that allowed onboarding activities to be personalized based on individual trainee needs. Trainers could assign specific cases to reinforce concepts, address development gaps, provide remediation opportunities, or gradually increase case volume as trainees progressed through onboarding. This flexibility allowed training to remain individualized while maintaining a structured onboarding framework.

From an operational standpoint, implementation also helped reduce dependency on live cases and schedule availability during onboarding. This improved training continuity and helped alleviate some of the workflow bottlenecks that previously affected onboarding progression and trainer workload.

How did you use Go over the course of the term?

EHR Go was integrated throughout the onboarding and workforce readiness process as an ongoing experiential training resource rather than being limited to isolated activities or one-time exercises. Trainees engaged with the platform consistently as part of a structured onboarding pathway designed to progressively build competency, critical thinking, and operational readiness over time.

During the early stages of onboarding, trainees used EHR Go to become familiar with documentation review expectations, workflow processes, navigation of patient records, and foundational concepts. As onboarding progressed, trainees transitioned into more advanced case scenarios focused on higher-level analytical skills, including documentation analysis, optimization opportunities, and case considerations.

A significant benefit of the platform was the ability to expose trainees to a broader variety of case types, specialties, documentation patterns, and complexity levels that may not consistently occur through live onboarding workflows alone. This helped address variability in operational case exposure and ensured trainees received more standardized and intentional learning opportunities across onboarding cohorts. Cases could also be strategically selected to align with specific onboarding focus areas or trainee development needs.

EHR Go was incorporated into facilitated review discussions, independent practice activities, coaching sessions, remediation support, and competency evaluations. Trainers also used cases strategically to personalize onboarding based on trainee performance and identified development gaps. For example, trainees requiring reinforcement in specific specialties, extending onboarding time, documentation concepts, or analytical skills could be assigned targeted cases to strengthen those areas before advancing further in onboarding.

The platform also helped maintain continuity and consistency during periods when live operational onboarding opportunities were limited due to workflow demands, fluctuating case volumes, onboarding capacity, or limited resources. Because trainees could continue building skills through simulated cases, onboarding progression became more predictable, scalable, and less dependent on operational variability.

What is the student experience using Go?

The trainee experience using EHR Go was highly positive because the platform provided an opportunity to practice skills in a safe, low-risk training environment. Many trainees reported that working through realistic patient cases helped increase their confidence and preparedness before transitioning into live production workflows.

One of the most noticeable trends was increased engagement and active participation in building specific case review skills through case analysis and documentation review. This helped strengthen understanding and critical thinking skills related to Enjoin workflows and documentation scenarios.

EHR Go also provided an opportunity to address individual development needs, pacing, and areas requiring additional focus. This allowed trainees to spend additional time strengthening specific competencies while progressing through onboarding at an appropriate pace.

Another important benefit was the consistency of exposure to meaningful practice opportunities. Because the platform reduced reliance on live operational workflows, trainees had more predictable access to hands-on training experiences regardless of operational demands or case availability.

Traditional onboarding models often depended heavily on live prebill reviews, physician availability, fluctuating workloads, and access to operational systems. Incorporating EHR Go into the onboarding process helped reduce some of those dependencies and create more predictable, scalable, and consistent training opportunities while easing pressure on operational teams and trainers
